RVU encompasses several UK market leaders for price comparison platforms like Uswitch.com and Confused.com. Our team, Airship, looks after the infrastructure of our London-based brands and at the end of 2022 we were tasked with reducing cost and resource wastage. We embarked on a journey which would keep tagging, labelling, Kubecost, Looker and Argo Workflows at its core. The impact was massive: In the first month after the launch of the MVP, our cost went down by around 6%, our cluster efficiency improved by 20%, and our idle cost decreased by 33% with a self-serve platform. The overall forecasted saving figure for the year is around 50% compared to the previous year just by empowering engineering teams in the right way.
