This session will cover how an internal developer portal and platform help organizations support velocity and nimbleness without trading off standards. We’ll share the experience of a personal journey of a CTO who migrated 100MW of data centers to the cloud, and faced multiple acquisitions to integrate.

We’ll discuss the current state of the internal developer portal product category and the growing recognition of how to leverage platform engineering resources strategically. Finally we’ll explore the future of internal developer portals, including not just ongoing refinements to existing features but how platform engineers can be a strategic resource to even more enterprise stakeholders in dire need of support. Examples will range from security to FinOps to architecture.

How to deploy Kotlin applications to Kubernetes without Dockerfiles
In this talk Lothar shares how to create docker images with Kotlin and Gradle only. Lothar will showcase a ktor application as well as create and deploy a Docker image that contains the application to a Kubernetes cluster. The deployment happens on the command line only - every code change will trigger an instant deployment of a newly created Docker image to a Kubernetes cluster.
